At the end of the day, we are introducing a new product into the world. It is made from recycled material in a bluesign certified factory, but even so, they are non-natural fibres, and there is energy cost in the manufacturing and transport our product.
With anything that uses energy and materials, there is a cost to the environment, and we feel obliged to re-pay that cost.
We are contributing ___% of our total sales (not profit) to environemntal causes.
In order to see a real change to the way the modern world interacts with the environment, governments and corporations need to put the environment before profits. Laws and regulations are in place, but are not always strictly followed, and some goals have been set, but without the rules and laws that lead to acheiving them. Thats why we are chosing to donate to non-for-profit environmental organisations such as Environemtal Defense Society Aotearoa and Environmental Law Initiative. These organisations are teams of lawyers that professionally scrutinise governemnt and corporation behaviour, and challenge them when they try and bend the rules. They are attacing the root cause of large scale environemental harm, and we think this is where money is best spent to ensure survival of the environment long term.... bla bla... talk to Josie..

Reduce belongings , consume less
In designing a jacket, we wanted to make it simple, durable, and with a style that wont go out of fashion. With no unneccesary bells and whistles, theres less to break, and it keeps the cost down.
We then asked ourselves: are we helping the planet by making a new product? Probably not — honestly, you're better off raiding your parents' wardrobe or hitting a second-hand store. But if you genuinely need a new jacket, we’re doing our best to make it as low-impact as possible.
Eco friendly fabric. Shipping is done in packs of 10 instead of individually wrapped, and in recycled plastic.

Why manufactuer in Nepal? through family contacts, we were introduced to a small family run business who were more than keen to take on our project.. working with good people from a country we feel good doing business with.. and it means our work trips take us somewhere we want to spend time in.
